When the most recent revision of the ACS Guidelines for Chemistry in Two-Year College Programs was released in 2009, the needs of chemistry-based technology and other applied chemistry programs were addressed by a separate unit. Now that chemistry-based technology programs have been integrated into the suite of ACS offerings for two-year colleges, it is time to reintegrate them into the Guidelines as well. In this interactive presentation, members of the SOCED Task Force on the Revision of the Guidelines will present what is currently available for chemistry-based technology programs and solicit input from the audience on what ACS can do to support these valuable programs. Come share your insights, challenges, and best practices for chemistry-based technology at two-year colleges.
