Organic Reaction Animations (ORA) and Bio-Organic Reaction Animations (BioORA) are computationally derived programs that help students visualize the three-dimensional aspects of organic chemistry. BioORA provides a unique representation of the biomolecules (enzymes, nucleic acids, carbohydrates, and lipids) and a detailed view of the chemistry that the macromolecules facilitate. We will discuss merits of using ORA and BioORA in the classroom and their use outside of the class. We will also address the assessment of each program.
