P612: It’s Electric! A guided inquiry electrochem lab
Are you tired of hearing students ask “why do we have to learn this?” This talk will describe a guided inquiry activity that requires students to evaluate the alterative energy plan of a real life presidential candidate. To do so, students investigate the functioning of an electrolytic cell under different conditions. Important aspects of facilitating this activity and student outcomes will be discussed along with ways that this activity aligns with the Next Generation Science Standards and the Common Core language arts requirements. Participants will learn about how to obtain the student and teacher guides for this activity and more for free!
