There is more science history concentrated in one small area of Paris than perhaps in all of the rest of France. This “tour” will take us to some of the most remarkable sites, including the discoveries of ten elements, radioactivity, stereochemistry, microbiology. immunology, the principles of the chemical revolution, and much, much more. After an overview, this paper will concentrate on the birth of stereochemistry with a view to preparing the chemists of tomorrow with lessons from chemists of the past.
