With the support of the National Science Foundation, St. Mary’s College of Maryland (a public liberal arts college), Allegheny College (a private liberal arts college) and Queensborough Community College (a two-year college) are involved in a collaborative effort to improve student-learning outcomes in the undergraduate organic chemistry laboratory. Shared interests and complementary educational settings laid the foundation for this project, which is funded through the Transforming Undergraduate Education in STEM (TUES) program. The presentation will outline the development of the collaboration and the proposal. The presentation will also address the elements of the project proposal that are believed to have been key to successful funding. The authorsÊgratefully acknowledgeÊthe financial support of the NSF (DUE#1323035) for this project.
