The University of Evansville (UE) is a private comprehensive university committed to the liberal arts and sciences that has a student population of approximately 2600 students. In response to the needs of the School of Nursing, the UE Department of Chemistry implemented a summer online-hybrid GOB course. Students’ attitudes, learning outcomes, and lessons will be presented.

The Department of Chemistry at the University of Evansville (a private comprehensive university with approximately 2600 students) has developed a unique senior chemistry capstone course that reflects on both students’ cumulative understanding and integration of general education and the chemistry discipline. The course was developed in response to faculty interpretation of students’ needs as well as the overall need for curriculum assessment. The course includes professional development experiences as well as the recognition of chemistry in contemporary societal and global issues. The presentation will discuss specific components of the course, student learning outcomes, and assessment.
