P890: Development and implementation of a mentored teaching training program for graduate students
A Summer Teaching Training Program was developed whereby advanced graduate students served as first-time instructors under the guidance of a faculty mentor. The graduate students were listed as the Instructor of Record on summer offerings of organic chemistry courses. These Summer Teaching Fellows were provided with course notes and other materials in order to mitigate both the challenges of teaching for the first time and the fast paced nature of the summer courses. A description of the program and the results of its initial iteration are described.
