Using an arsenal of tools, including Socrative, ALEKS, Lecture Tools, Camtasia Relay, podcasting, tablet computers, and more, students are taking advantage of emerging technologies to take ownership of their learning in our general chemistry sequence. In this session, we will showcase how leveraging these resources can maximize the potential of students in and out of the classroom. The goal for each student is a journey that is not always the same pathway to mastery of chemistry. Student learning assessment results will be presented. Additionally, efforts toward retention of underprepared science majors in the general chemistry sequence will be discussed.
