Smart classroom technology can enhance student learning and expand the ability to demonstrate chemical reactions, simulations, etc. Often “Smart Classrooms” come at a very high price and much of the technology has a very limited useful lifespan. A smart classroom often contains a video projector, a document camera, smart board technology, computer, DVD player, and a command center that ties all of this technology together. A smart room system can cost in excess of $20,000. This expense leaves many institutions with limited access to smart room technology. Substituting a tablet or smart phone and a projector connected to a Chromecast or Apple TV device reduces the cost more than an order of magnitude and in many cases improves performance and usability.
