Mobile devices with high-resolution graphics and interactive touchscreens provide both a challenge and an opportunity to create interactive media for the visualization of three-dimensional chemical structures. Symmetry plays a central role in the understanding of molecular structure and bonding and represents an excellent case for the integration of computer visualization and physical models. The resources at Symmetry@Otterbein have been updated using the latest version of Jmol and are now compatible with a wide range of mobile devices. These updates will be demonstrated along with a discussion of the underlying technologies and the challenges of adapting to a touchscreen interface. Finally, an example of how these materials have been integrated into an undergraduate inorganic chemistry course will be presented.
