In 2015, ACS will release the latest revision of the its Guidelines for Chemistry in Two-Year College Programs. The purpose of the revision is to keep Guidelines current with the needs of the community; however, the revisions will be useless if the community does not have the tools and resources needed to implement them. In this interactive presentation, members of the SOCED Task Force on the Revision of the Guidelines will present current and proposed resources and solicit input from the audience on what ACS can do to support chemistry educators. Come share your successes, challenges, and concerns on implementing the Guidelines at your institution.

As recognition of the important role of two-year colleges in STEM education has grown, so too has the push to recognize and share successes in this part of the chemistry pipeline. In response, the ACS Two-Year College Advisory Board has assembled a working group to explore the development of a framework to recognize excellence in two-year college chemistry education. This interactive discussion will focus specifically on chemistry transfer degree programs and how ACS can best support them. Participants will explore their goals for ACS recognition, what constitutes excellence in chemistry transfer programs, and how excellence can be recognized.
